Long Lashes

Eyelashes Questions and Answers

Q: What should I do prior to my appointment?
A: Try to arrive without any eye makeup and do not curl your lashes that day.
Shower and wash your hair
Consult your doctor before your appointment if you are pregnant, are taking medication, suffer from any medical conditions or allergies, or are recovering from any medical procedure.

Q: How should I care for my lashes?
A: (First 48 hours) Do no wet lashes. If you must shower, Avoid immersing your face in water. Even steam affects the lash bond, so be mindful of the temperature and time of exposure.

 (After 48 hours)
• Use only oil-free products. Oil is the number one agent used to break up adhesive bonds.
• No curling your lashes
• Use a facecloth to wash your face
• Avoid brushing the lashes unless they are in absolute need of a swift fix. It doesn’t take much.
• Avoid sleeping on your face, for tangling and smashing purposes.

Q: How long does the procedure take?
A: Depending on the number of lashes being applied, it generally takes between 90 to 120 minutes to apply a full set of Xtreme Lashes® Eyelash Extensions. Fills can be done in 60 minutes.

Q: Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions?
A: Yes, even though mascara is not really required since the extensions actually give the illusion of wearing mascara, applying mascara can still be done. It must however only be water based mascara. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF MASCARA. Waterproof mascara or any type of oil based mascara can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions causing them to fall sooner. Care also needs to be taken in washing off the mascara. Only use a water based eye makeup remover.

Q: Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?
A: Yes (after 48hrs). The bonding agent used is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. But the curing time of the glue is 48hrs. The longer you can go the better. Special care is required but overall maintenance is low.

Q: Do lash extensions cause your lashes to fall out?
A: The application of lash extensions will not cause hair loss, nor will it cause eyelashes to fall out. However, if you pull them out, well, then... you've pulled them out! Remember that your natural lashes have their own life cycle of falling and growing - like the hair found elsewhere on your body. It's just hard to notice small lashes falling out, but when attached to a thicker, longer lash it's hard not to notice! And of course, once the extensions are removed, your own eyes may appear smaller, your natural lashes, shorter and sparser because you've been accustomed to a full set of longer, thicker lashes! Some use extensions for special occasions, others are addicts for life - use at your discretion.

Q: How long do lash extensions last?
A: When properly applied, an eyelash extension will remain in place until the natural lash on which it rests falls out. This can be as long as two months or more. With proper care and maintenance, touch ups are typically only needed once every 2 to 4 weeks to replace the lashes that have shed.

Daily Tips: The most common causes of Xtreme Lashes™ falling out before the end of your natural life cycle include excessively touching the lashes, use of oil based products, layering on excessive amounts of mascara which requires excessive cleaning, and frequent exposure to heat sources such as spas, steam rooms and tanning salons.

Above all, BE GENTLE! Do not pick or pull your Xtreme Lashes™ and refrain from excessively rubbing your eyes.
